Béchamel Sauce

Lactose-free béchamel sauce made with LACTAID®

Ingredients

3 tablespoons unsalted margarine

,

1 tablespoon minced onion

,

¼ cup all-purpose flour

,

¼ teaspoon salt

,

White pepper to taste

Lactaid 2% Reduced Fat Milk Front of Package

LACTAID® Reduced Fat 2% Lactose-Free Milk


Directions

1.

Melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, but not browned, about 3 minutes.

2.

Whisk in flour and cook for 3 minutes on medium heat, whisking until flour is absorbed.

3.

Add LACTAID® Fat-Free Lactose-Free Milk and whisk constantly until the mixture is thick and smooth, about 10 minutes.

4.

Season to taste with salt and white pepper.
