3 tablespoons unsalted margarine
1 tablespoon minced onion
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups <a href="/products/lactaid-fat-free-milk">LACTAID® Fat Free Milk</a>, warmed
1/4 teaspoon salt
White pepper to taste
- Melt margarine over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, but not browned, about 3 minutes.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 3 minutes on medium heat, whisking until flour is absorbed. Add LACTAID® Fat Free Milk and whisk constantly until the mixture is thick and smooth, about 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and white pepper.
