Poached Pork Roast

Poached pork roast with rosemary
Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds boneless pork shoulder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
  1. Pat pork dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large frypan over high heat and brown pork on all sides - about 5 minutes.
  3. Add LACTAID® Fat Free Milk and simmer, covered, for 2 hours.
  4. Continue to cook pork, partially covered, at a bare simmer until very tender, about 1 hour.
  5. Put pork on a cutting board and let stand 5 minutes.
  6. Season cooking liquid with salt, pepper and garlic powder and boil for 2 minutes.
  7. Thinly slice pork and pour cooking liquid on top.
