Rich Mexican Hot Chocolate

Put your feet up and relax with a mug of extra-rich hot chocolate gently spiced with cinnamon.

Ingredients

6 cups LACTAID® Whole Milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
Frozen whipped nondairy dessert topping, thawed

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan combine 1 cup of the LACTAID® Whole Milk, chocolate pieces, and cinnamon. Cook and whisk over medium-low heat until chocolate is melted. Gradually stir in remaining LACTAID® Whole Milk. Cook and whisk until heated through. (Do not boil.)
  2. Stir in vanilla. Beat with a rotary beater or immersion blender until very frothy. Pour hot chocolate into mugs and dollop with whipped topping.
