2 tablespoons canola oil
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 cups LACTAID® Fat Free Milk
2 cups finely chopped, cooked chicken meat
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- In a 3-quart saucepan, heat oil. Whisk in flour and form a paste. Gradually stir in LACTAID® Fat Free Milk and continue stirring until thickened.
- Add chicken to white sauce mixture. Add sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder and basil. Mix well and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat.
