Orange Panna Cotta

Traditional panna cotta originates from Italy. This orange and vanilla flavored dessert is light and refreshing; perfect for any holiday table.

⅓ cup sugar
1 (¼ ounce) package unflavored gelatin
2 ½ cups LACTAID® Lactose-Free Whole Milk
2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur*
1 teaspoon vanilla
Scented geranium or mint leaves (optional)
Directions
- In a medium saucepan stir together the sugar and gelatin. Add LACTAID® Lactose-Free Whole Milk. Heat and stir until gelatin is dissolved. Remove from heat.
- Stir in orange liqueur or extract and vanilla.
- Pour into 6 individual ramekins or molds that hold at least 4 ounces. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours or until set.
- To serve, unmold, if desired. To unmold, immerse bottom half of ramekin or mold in hot water for 15 to 20 seconds. Run a clean small knife around edge to loosen. Invert onto dessert plate. Garnish with scented geranium or mint leaves, if desired.
Notes
*Two teaspoons of orange extract may be substituted for the two tablespoons of orange liqueur.
